Grief

Grief is not a prison
It can't hold you in its walls
Pain is not a chain
Dragging down dark halls

Hurt is not a shackle
Tied around your feet
Distrust is not a burden
You alone must meet

Confusion is not a window
Barred with eternal life
It is but a visitor
Present in your strife

Peace will reign again
My friend
And scars you then will bare
To the world so thirsty
For signs that someone cares
